For over 25 years, The Somerville Foundation has been supporting young people and adults born with a heart condition: providing help and advice, information, newsletters and peer support. We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our small team in this new and varied role.

The Engagement Officer will play a key role in helping to develop and support the ongoing work of the charity who have a commitment to supporting Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) patients to become 'Expert patients'.
Predominantly a relationship builder and storyteller, you will have a proven track record and demonstrable experience of writing interesting and engaging copy/content that spur the reader into action.

You will establish and maintain excellent relationships with individual fundraisers; engage with our members, work together to support them on their journey and retain them as regular supporters of the charity as well playing an essential part in conveying the charity's messages to grant making panels and it is vital that the strengths of our organisation are highlighted.

The role is ideally suited to an organised individual with communication and engagement expertise.

A skilled writer with a track record of telling stories of positive impact, you will have a demonstrable interest in helping others and achieving better outcomes. 

You must be a team player, enjoy working as part of a small team and collaborating on projects and campaigns as well as being able to tackle a project on your own, come up with new ideas and prioritise your workload.
This is predominantly an office-based role working from our town centre offices but may involve occasional home-working at our discretion. Hours and days to be discussed.
