Coastal Partnership East is a young and dynamic organisation launched in 2016 with an innovative approach to managing the coast between Kelling in North Norfolk and Landguard Point in Felixstowe Suffolk.
The Partnership was formed by bringing together the coastal management resources and expertise from Gt. Yarmouth Borough Council, North Norfolk District Council and East Suffolk Council.
We work closely with a range of partners including the Environment Agency, the Water Management Alliance, Natural England, coast and estuary community partnerships, businesses and many others along the coast in Norfolk and Suffolk.
Whilst the partnership may only be young it is already recognised as a great example of how Maritime Local Authorities should manage their coastline. Recognised as an innovator in partnership working, we are evolving rapidly and we need an exceptional staff to complete our team.
We have a justifiable reputation for great partnership working, particularly with our communities and this is something we continue to foster and invest in further.
The Lowestoft Flood Risk Management Project is about developing a way forward to reduce the risk of flooding from tidal surges such as was seen in 2013. It will also reduce flooding from rivers and surface water flooding in parts of Lowestoft that experienced flooding in 2015 and 2016.
After a successful funding award, the full project is moving towards construction start. To help us to engage with the community and multiple key stakeholders and partners, we are looking for a practised Engagement Officer with exceptional communications and people skills to join our passionate, growing and enthusiastic team.
We build community engagement plans, communications campaigns, consultations and events that support the work of Partnership along the Norfolk and Suffolk Coast and we need to continue that standard of engagement in Lowestoft.
You will have a broad range of communications skills which will include social and digital media, PR, marketing and event management. These skills will help you to play a valuable part in keeping our communities, partners and other key customers in Lowestoft at the start and heart of all that we do.
You will be educated to degree level, equivalent qualifications or have relevant demonstrable experience in a public relations, communications or engagement field: be willing to become or currently hold membership of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and hold or be willing to work towards a relevant professional qualification.
