East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Infrastructure Engineer to join our ICT team based in Lowestoft. As part of a team of Infrastructure Engineers, you will take a lead role on Infrastructure projects including designs, implementation, and upgrades to the Councils IT infrastructure. You will be working closely with 3rd party solution providers and operational teams where required. You will also take lead roles in the protection of ICT infrastructure, data and systems from cyber threats, breaches, and disruptions.

Duties will include managing routine and operational works required to ensure ICT infrastructure and associated systems are managed, configured and optimised to deliver the required performance. You will be providing 2nd /3rd line technical support including detailed technical investigation and analysis to resolve incidents and restore services

We are looking for someone who has experience in design, engineering, and operations of Microsoft server related components with the knowledge of information security frameworks. You must have effective communication and interpersonal skills to be able to establish and develop positive relationships with officers, councillors, partners, and suppliers.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development. We want you to stay with us for the long-term, so we’ll give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There’s also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.
