£18,933 - £19,698 pro rata

Post 1 :

  • 30 hpw, Monday – Friday,  8.30am – 3.30pm with one-hour lunch
  • Term time only (38 weeks per year)
  • Maternity cover

Post 2:

  • 11 hpw, Monday – Friday 9am -3.30pm  with one-hour lunch
  • Term time only (38 weeks per year)
  • Fixed term until 31 August 2021.

Required for a January 2021 start, HSB Teaching Assistants to give support to children with profound hearing impairment and additional needs.

You will be working in partnership with the teacher for the deaf and classroom based teachers to support children’s access of the curriculum, participation in learning activities and the life of the school by communicating between spoken English and British Sign Language or Signed Supported English, depending on the child’s communication preference. You will enhance children’s sense of achievement whilst developing independence in learning and other aspects of school life.

A British Sign Language Level 1 qualification is essential, stage 2 is desirable and you should be well qualified and possess the confidence and skills in the person specification.
